Anime cartoons
I thought it would be interesting to look at Anime cartoons because of the main ideas that came out from our trip to London. For instance the Snog Frozen yoghurt bar where the interior of the shop was full of toadstall seats and cartoon characters on the wall, and our interactive food experience in Inamo which served a mixture of Japanese and Asian cuisine, as well as the interior design of the restaurant itself, which had pop art artwork on the walls, and modern light fittings that wouldn't look out of place on a spaceship!

The website http://www.absoluteanime.com/ describes it- "Anime (アニメ) is, in the simplest term, animation from Japan. As you can imagine, this covers a whole heck of a lot of varying artistic styles, many of which differ quite drastically, yet the common thread through it all is exaggeration."

Fresh Fruits book by Shoichi Aoki
Taken from Amazon Product Description: "Fruits Too is a collection of Tokyo teenage street fashion portraits selected from Japan's premier street fanzine of the same title. Published every month by Shoichi Aoki, who is also the sole photographer for the magazine, Fruits was established in 1994 as a project to document the growing explosion in street fashion within the suburbs of Tokyo. Over the last decade the magazine has grown to cult status and is now avidly followed by thousands of Japanese teenagers who also use the magazine as an opportunity to check out the latest styles and trends."
