These are photos I have taken of magazine pages with still life stories
Purple Magazine
'Best of Season' F/W 2011 #16
Photographer- Terry Richardson
Model- Lindsey Wixson
Styling- Caroline Gaimari
Art Director- Olivier Zahm
Found these images interesting how the model is wearing delicate and very 'styled' outfits yet she is eating the food in a more 'grotesque' and 'greedy' way. This is ofcourse an editorial using a model, rather than just a food still life, but it is interesting how the food is used to determine the story, and it plays a big part in the audience's reaction.
AnOther Magazine
S/S 2011 #20
Photographer- Erwan Frotin
Styling- Agata Belcen
Thought these were a great example of how food and accessories have been styled together successfully. I like the way the jewellery reflects the food, so the shape of the jewellery, and the colour, like how the necklace is entwined in the pasta. This makes a strong story and an interesting concept of how accessories can go well with food in still life.
Dansk Magazine
'(Unidentified) Flying Objects'
F/W 2011 #26
Photographer- Martin Vallin
Fashion Editor- Oscar Lange
Again, I thought these still lives use the page extremely well in an innovative way. I like how each object looks like it's balancing in air, and I'm assuming they have photographed the objects then put them together to make one still life in post production. This is another great example of how still life can be different and interesting to look at. I also love the way the colours coordinate together.
125 Magazine
'In Death Release' #18 Escape Issue
Photographer- Jason Pietra
Prop Stylist- Juliet Murrel
Product Stylist- Thea Lewis
Prop Assistant- Less Lenton
Photographer's Assistant- Bruno Drummond
These still lifes are darker and not as clear, but they create a clear story. I like how the accessories are less obvious and blend in well.
